Welcome to Learn Classical Apologetics. I built this because I wanted something that would help Christians actually understand the case for what they believe, not just memorize a list of answers. I also wanted it to be useful when you are sitting across from someone asking a real question. You do not need a background in philosophy or apologetics. We start with logic, truth, and how arguments work, then build the case for God before moving into Jesus, the resurrection, and Scripture. The pre-test is there if you want a starting score, but you can skip it. My hope is that by the end you understand the case well enough to check it for yourself and explain it in your own words.
WHAT IS CLASSICAL APOLOGETICS?
Classical apologetics is pretty simple in its basic structure. First, is there good reason to believe God exists? If there is, the next question is whether that God has actually revealed himself in Jesus Christ. That is the path I use here. You do not need to force every conversation through the whole course. The point is to know where you are in the case, what evidence belongs there, and what still has to be shown.
YOUR COURSE PATH
Here is how the course is laid out.
You do not need the whole map memorized before you begin. The basic movement is enough: first ask whether God exists, then ask whether Christianity is true. Studies 1–2 give you the tools that help with both.
Is there good reason to believe God exists?
Work through several different reasons for believing reality makes more sense with God than without him.
Miracles are possible
If God exists, you cannot rule out divine action before you even look at the historical evidence.
Has God revealed himself in Jesus Christ?
Now look at Jesus historically: what he claimed, his death, the resurrection evidence, and the alternatives.
New here? If you want a starting score, take the optional pre-test. If not, just start with Study 1. If someone has already asked you a specific question, jump to the study you need. The course has an order because the arguments build on each other, but a real conversation will not always follow that order.

THE CLASSICAL APOLOGETICS PATH
Work through the case in order, or go straight to the question you need.
The first 20 studies make up the core course. Studies 1–2 cover logic and truth. Studies 3–9 work through the case for God. Study 10 deals with whether miracles can be ruled out if God exists. Studies 11–20 move into Jesus, the resurrection, his authority, and Scripture. Then there are three bonus studies on real conversations, evil and suffering, and creation, evolution, and worldview. Each study teaches one part of the case, shows the evidence I think matters, and gives you a chance to explain it yourself.
PRACTICE LAB
Practice the conversation, not just the answer.
The lab works in three steps. First, figure out what kind of question is actually being asked. Then practice responding while the other person pushes back. Finally, answer the same kinds of questions in your own words. You do not need to work through a difficulty ladder. Start wherever you need practice.

You will get five short questions at a time, one from each part of the course map. The point is not to answer the objection yet. It is to recognize what kind of question you are dealing with.
HANDLE THE CONVERSATION
See what happens when the person pushes back.
Choose a scenario and work through the exchange. I made the choices close on purpose, so the longest or most polished answer is not a shortcut. You will see why each choice was graded the way it was at the end.
Standard scenarios stay focused on one main issue. Complex scenarios add harder pushback. Multiple issues scenarios test whether you can keep several concerns from getting tangled together.

YOUR OWN WORDS
Now answer without choices.
Pick any scenario, answer the opening claim, and handle two follow-ups before you see a model. Then compare your answer with the model instead of trying to copy it.
WHEN THE CONVERSATION DRIFTS
Keep the actual question on the table.
Conversations wander. These are some common ways the discussion can move away from the question you were actually talking about. Sometimes the best thing to do is just point that out and come back to it.
A NOTE ON CLASSICAL APOLOGETICS
These arguments work together, but do not make one argument do too much.
The basic approach here is to make the case for God first, then make the historical case for Christianity. Different apologists arrange things differently. I try to keep each argument doing only the work it can actually do instead of making one argument prove more than it proves.
Do not skip steps
A cosmological argument may support a necessary foundation. You still need further reasons before talking about the Trinity or the resurrection.
History usually works as a cumulative case
With history, one fact rarely settles everything. Several lines of evidence matter together.
Let objections do their job
If an objection exposes a weak premise or makes you qualify what you said, that is useful. Fix the argument instead of pretending the objection does not matter.
